Fresh Market Enviroment...

Mom had been out all day on Friday with a friend at a Scrapbook Convention browsing and shopping for a few choice items of cuteness!  I called her from work that afternoon and offered to make dinner, which is a rarity for me at our house.  But with the first appearance of the sunshine and warm temperatures, I was in the mood for something on the grill -
BBQ Chicken with some fresh grilled veggies.

As I left work Friday afternoon, I knew exactly where I would stop
to get the supplies for my menu -
 The Fresh Market!

I love this store!  The environment they create makes you feel like you're in an upscale supermarket in New England.  I always picture people like Ina Garten or Giata De Laurentiis from the Food Network shopping here.
The displays and colors are so fun that I just had to take a couple of photos to share.

Immediately when you walk in you're greeted by dim lighting, classical music playing, and a display of gorgeous flowers like these:

I can't help but feel the stress of my week falling away as I walk around looking at all the fresh fruits and veggies.  The colors are outrageous and I can't quite put my finger on what it is about their displays that make everything look so appealing.

There are many other places throughout the store with these old fashioned glass jars and scoops. But what better stand could a girl find to take a picture of than the chocolate display?
(Unfortunately, I didn't partake in any  of these goodies on this trip,
but it sure doesn't hurt to look!)

It may seem silly to get so worked up over a grocery store.  But until you take a trip and experience this place for yourself, you won't understand what I mean.  Instead of the harried frenzy of normal grocery stores where you're trying to get in and get out, Fresh Market creates an environment that encourages you to linger, slow down, and smell the roses....or chocolate. :)

  1. Sniff sniff! I smell good things here, Kellie. Love the post - it's so true and you know how I enjoy Fresh Market. A treasure chest of sensory delights! Whoever does their marketing/design is a wizard. The lighting, use of wood, etc. is all pulled together seamlessly. Wish that wizard would work his magic in MY house!
